נַחֵם יְיָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ אֶת אֲבֵלֵי בֵּית קָדְשֶׁךָ וְאֶת נֶאֶמְנֵי צִיּוֹן עִירֶךָ הַכְּמֵהִים לְשִׁיבַת שְׁכִינָתֶךָ. עַד מָתַי תֵּשֵׁב מוֹרִיָּה אֻמְלָלָה וּבְִזוּיָה, צוֹעֶקֶת וּמִתְחַנֶּנֶת? 
דְּבִיר דָּוֶה - הֵיכָן כְּרוּבַי?
הֵיכָל הוֹמֶה - הֵיכָן נֵרוֹתַי?
אֲרִיאֵל שׁוֹאֵג - הֵיכָן אִשַּׁי?
עֲזָרָה זוֹעֶקֶת - הֵיכָן כּוֹהֲנַי?
וְהָהָר בְּמַר בּוֹכֶה - הֵיכָן בָּנַי?
רְאֵה יְיָ וְהַבִּיטָה, וְהָשֵׁב שְׁכִינָתְךָ לְהַר מְרוֹמֶךָ, וְאֵשׁ קָדְשְׁךָ לְמִזְבַּח הֵיכָלֶךָ, וִיקַר תִּפְאַרְתְּךָ לְפִינַת יִקְרָתֶךָ. כִּי אַתָּה יְיָ בָּאֵשׁ הִצַּתָּהּ וּבָאֵשׁ אַתָּה עָתִיד לִבְנוֹתָהּ, כָּאָמוּר: וַאֲנִי אֶהְיֶה לָהּ נְאוּם יְיָ חוֹמַת אֵשׁ סָבִיב וּלְכָבוֹד אֶהְיֶה בְּתוֹכָהּ. בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ מְנַחֵם צִיּוֹן וּבוֹנֵה יְרוּשָׁלַיִם

  1. This is a very good answer to the real disconnect I have felt while reciting Nachem in the vibrate, bustling, successful city of Jerusalem. However, I would invite discussion about a two points. Your Nachem has focused entirely on Har Moriyah - assuming that Jerusalem has been rebuilt and is no longer the object of our prayers. I submit that complete sovereignty, peace, security and unanimous world recognition are still aspects of a redeemed Jerusalem needing our current prayers. I also question your reference to rebuilding the Temple in fire. Have not studied the references for a while but my impression was there is a tension between the passive approach of a waiting for Hashem's Temple to descend ready made in fire and a more active approach whereby we are tasked to build it ourselves. Being a Zionist, I tend to the later. In either case, I think your prayer should not prioritize one over the other. Despite these questions, I thank you for this important contribution.
